Search & Recovery Specialty Course

In this specialty course, you will acquire essential skills and knowledge to locate and recover lost items underwater. You'll learn effective search patterns using a compass and natural navigation techniques, how to plan and organize search operations, and the proper use of lifting devices like lift bags for safely recovering heavy objects. This course enhances your underwater problem-solving abilities, sharpens your observation skills, and increases your confidence in handling challenging dive situations.

Requirements

• Adventure Diver rating or above
• 15 years of age

• Duration: approx. 4 hours

• Check-in time: Please check in 30 minutes before the departure time.
• Check-in location: Capt. Hook's Marina & Dive Center located @ 11833 Overseas Highway at Vaca Cut Oceanside
• Departure point: Detailed check-in instructions - including address, Google map, and parking information - will be included in your final confirmation email.

Notes

• When you arrive in the Florida Keys, it is always a good idea to stop by the dive shop to confirm your start time for the course.
• As with any activity dependent on Mother Nature, this training may be canceled due to wind, weather, visibility, or sea conditions, in which case we will do everything possible to reschedule and complete your training.
• Guests cannot participate if under the influence of drugs or alcohol or if they have any existing medical conditions that put them or others at risk.
