Two Dives. Two Reefs. One Great Day.

Every reef trip includes two consecutive one-hour dives at two different sites. Our captains select the locations each morning based on real-time conditions — current visibility reports, wind, sea state, and decades of firsthand experience on these waters. We stay in constant communication with other dive operations throughout the Keys, so when conditions shift, we know exactly where the best water is and we go there. With more than 30 sites in rotation, no two trips are exactly alike — and divers who come back with us repeatedly tell us they see something new every single time.

A Divemaster in the Water — Complimentary

Every Captain Hook's reef trip includes a certified divemaster who enters the water with you at no additional charge. They know these reefs intimately — the resident sea turtles, the eagle rays that cruise the ledges, the moray eels tucked into their favorite coral heads. They'll point out what you'd otherwise swim right past. If you haven't been diving in a while, having someone experienced nearby makes a meaningful difference in your comfort level. If you're an experienced diver who prefers to explore independently with your buddy, that's completely fine — the divemaster is there on your terms, not theirs.

Bringing a Mixed Group?

If some of your group dives and others prefer to stay at the surface, everyone rides the same boat. No splitting up, no separate trips, no complicated logistics. Snorkelers enjoy the reef from above while divers explore below. It's one of the things that makes Captain Hook's the easy choice for families and groups with mixed experience levels.

No Gear? No Problem.

Traveling light? Full rental gear packages are available so you can show up with nothing but your certification card and your sense of adventure. For groups or individuals who want exclusive, dedicated attention underwater, a Private Divemaster upgrade is also available — your own personal guide focused entirely on your experience. Both options can be added during the booking process.

What's Included

• Two one-hour dives at two reef locations
• Air fills, tanks, weights, and weight belt
• Complimentary certified divemaster in the water
• Freshwater rinse showers at the dock

Schedule & Check-In

• Departures: 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM daily
• Duration: Approximately 4 hours
• Check-in: Please arrive 60 minutes before your departure — this gives us time to fit your gear and get you settled before we head out
• Location: Captain Hook's Marina & Dive Center, 11833 Overseas Highway at Vaca Cut Oceanside, Marathon, FL

Requirements

• Open Water certification or higher (bring your certification card)
• If it's been more than 1 year since your last dive, your first dive will be alongside our divemaster — no extra charge, just a smart precaution
• If it's been more than 2 years, a brief Scuba Refresher is required and available at our dive center

Come See Us When You Arrive

If you're already in Marathon, stop into the shop before your trip. Our team can walk you through current reef conditions, get you fitted for gear, and answer any questions. We're at the marina — just walk in. We love meeting our divers before we get in the water together.

A Note on Conditions

Ocean activities depend on Mother Nature. If a trip is cancelled due to weather, visibility, or sea conditions, you'll have the choice to reschedule, receive a full refund, or apply your payment as store credit. Trips require a minimum of 5 divers — if that minimum isn't met, the same options apply. We'll always notify you as early as possible.

Spots fill fast, especially in season. Book in advance to guarantee your place on the boat.
